The Supervisor Eligibility Checker
Michigan requires supervised experience before a limited-license clinician reaches full licensure, and it regulates who may provide that supervision. The Checker walks through the requirements as a worksheet, shows the two routes the training rule allows, and names the places where the state has not supplied an answer.

What the rule requires, and where the state stopped.
Michigan’s counseling-supervision rule provides two training routes: two semester hours of graduate credit in counseling supervision, or thirty contact hours of workshop training in counseling supervision. The specialized training must cover nine specified subject areas.
Michigan’s Bureau of Professional Licensing, part of the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, is the agency that administers the rule. The rule as published does not specify who must provide the training, and the Center has not found published guidance stating whether asynchronous, self-paced online training satisfies the workshop route.
So the Checker separates two things: what the rule expressly requires, and what remains unresolved in the published guidance. An absence of published guidance is not an answer in either direction.
